Legend said that during the Spanish regime when this Barangay was still an unknown hinterland, a demure maiden by the name of Caridad dwelt among the villagers.

She lived in a nipa hut along the main trail to the different points of journey by the natives in the course of trade and livelihood.

Her abode was an oasis to weary souls who sought refuge from the blistering heat of the sun or from the dampness of the monsoon rains.

Caridad’s virtue was rightfully acclaimed far and wide that when she passed away the people she left with her benevolent endearments named the place after her for immortality.
