JOINT MEETING. The City Government of Bago held the 3rd Quarter Joint Meeting of the Gender and Development Focal Point System Executive Committee (GFPS-ExeCom), City Council for the Protection of Children (LCPC), and Local Committee on Anti-Trafficking and Violence Against Women and their Children (LCAT-VAWC) at the Community Center today, September 15.
Mayora Mayette Javellana presided over the joint council meeting, emphasizing that the city government must continue to be felt as a proactive shield for vulnerable sectors.
She guided the council through the policy agenda, ensuring that local investments and welfare mechanisms translate directly into tangible protection and empowerment for women, children and families, among other sectors.
Joining Mayora Mayette were Sangguniang Panlungsod Member and Committee on Women and Family Chair Councilor Imelda Precion, who serves as GFPS vice chairperson, and GFPS Technical Working Group Chair and City Planning and Development Coordinator designate EnP. Riza Segovia.
The joint body reviewed ongoing social programs and approved supplemental investment plans for gender development and child welfare, along with the reprogramming of welfare allocations to expand support for women in especially difficult circumstances.
The meeting also discussed key policy measures on child protection systems, halfway home operations, and anti-trafficking strategies, with further coordination sessions slated to finalize these operational frameworks.
Also pesent at the meeting were Bago City College President and Administrator Dr. Rowena Bañes, City Legal Officer Atty. Edward Joseph Cuansing, and City Health Officer Dr. Ferdinand Ramon Mayoga, alongside department heads and partner agency representatives.
Through these unified councils, the City Government of Bago continues to institutionalize inclusive, community-centered services that safeguard the rights and well-being of all Bagonhons.

KADIWA NG PANGULO. The City Government of Bago brought fresh agricultural produce and essential goods closer to residents through the Kadiwa ng Pangulo on September 15 at the Bago City Hall Grounds in Barangay Poblacion.
Mayora Mayette Javellana graced the activity and visited the vendor booths, interacting directly with local farmers, fisherfolk, and micro, small, and medium enterprise (MSME) exhibitors participating in the market day.
The mayor emphasized the importance of supporting homegrown livelihood, noting that direct selling platforms allow farming communities to earn better while giving Bagonhon households access to quality food items at farm-gate prices.
Spearheaded by the Local Economic Development and Investment Promotion Office (LEDIPO) in partnership with the Office of the City Agriculturist, the fair made affordable rice, fresh fruits and vegetables, root crops, seafood, baked products, and ready-to-eat meals available to the public.
Held every 15th and 30th of the month, the Kadiwa ng Pangulo serves as a regular economic and food-security mechanism of the City Government of Bago to uplift local growers and provide budget-friendly staples for Bagonhons.
