During the Spanish regime, the colonizers maltreated people including those living in a certain area between Bago and Barrio Maao. These people could no longer endure the cruelty of the colonizers so they fled to this place now known as Alianza to seek refuge and combine forces with the outlaws believed to inhabit the place.

They did so hoping that these outlaws would protect them. From then on, they formed a community later named by the Spaniards “Alianza”, which means alliance of forces.
