In the early 1800s, the place was surrounded by a dense forest. Fugitives of the law chose this place for their hideouts. They even brought their families, safe in the knowledge that it was easiest to elude the authorities who would pursue them.

Emboldened by their successes, these outlaws decided to stage a bigger operation than all the previous ones. However, one private citizen got wind of the plan and reported them to authorities.

It was not long after that the robbers fell into the well-laid plans of the police. They were caught and when their hide out was raided later, all they found were women and children. “There they were caught by the police,” in the dialect, “Napolisan.”
